It is getting colder here in Taipei. Tonight the temperature reaches 12 degrees. Brrrr.. I heard it is worse in Maine and just as hot as always in Surabaya. I miss both of my hometowns and shrunk in gratitude of this amazing Taipei where i live now.

Today i will speak about my favorite Revlon balm. I have got four of them before and i could not stop my hand to reach few more. Before i went to Taiwan, i bought this Revlon lacquer balm in Vivacious and Revlon Matte balm in Showy.

I could not stop raving about the packaging. I love this kind of crayon type of lipstick because they are just super cute and convenient.

Both colors are more on BOLD side. like.. very very BOLD. I wore showy on my whole lips last week. My colleague, Angela told me that it is just so BOLD. I still like them anyway. They are not drying my lips and has great lasting power. But because i look so ridiculous and clownish wearing them, i always use them as a color point. I dab them on the inside of my lips and sheer them out using lip concealer.

This is me wearing Vivacious. It is warm fuschia with satin finish. Sometimes it looks a little bit reddish.

This is me in Showy. It is a blue undertone pink. It looks very Barbie in a real world. I like it a lot.

I would praise this lippie for its long wearing, smooth result and travel friendly. So far, it is my most used lipsticks. Love them~

This one is a MUST BUY :).

Because it is affordable and can act for everything, from contour, eyeshadow, to eyebrow powder. WOW or not? I got this for 43.000 or about $4 in cosmetic store. Totally worth it.

It comes in black, plastic packaging. It has “window” where i can see the color inside. 

The applicator is black sponge which is actually usable. The sponge is thick and very nice to pick the colors from the pan.

Now the swatch! It is a matte brown, deep and not orangey. I like it. I swatch this without a primer.

In this picture below, i used the eyeshadow as a brow powder. The pigment won`t show up much if you have no foundation beneath (Bb cream would do too), so, i suggest you to shape the brow first with eyebrow pencil and fill the gaps with the eyeshadow. The result is going to be natural.

How about as contour powder? Draw a line with light hands on the side of the nose. Then blend it well. I think the powder works most as contour because the color is not orangey. Thus, looks quite natural.

Lastly, as eyeshadow. The main purpose of this product. Of course works well. Though it is too dark for daily use, it is best for setting the gel eyeliner and contour the eye socket.

Revlon Indonesia has recently launched their new version of Revlon Matte Balm. I bought two of them yesterday, and when i got back, i just realized i have two Revlon just bitten kissable balm stain on my traincase.

I was like, “ Oh, hello again my forgotten lippie.”

And i have not reviewed them, so i thought, why not now? plus i will give you some comparison review between the two balms today. So, lets get started!

Price: 80.000 or $8 for Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain and 88000 or $9 for Matte Balm

Got four of them lined up, and as you can see they look like crayons! hahaha. I brought Sweetheart once to my office and somehow it fell from the ground when i had meeting. The office boy helped me pick it up and put it inside my pencil case because he thought it was a highlighter or crayon!!

Though the look can be misleading for some, i just totally in love with the packaging because it is JUMBO twist up pencil, which is convenient. I don`t have to sharpen it therefore no waste at all. The pointy tip help me reaching out the edge of my lips and make the application easier.

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain has shinier packaging, whereas the Matte Balm is doff plastic. Totally matte. Preference? I like the Matte ones

Revlon Matte Balm supposed to give us velvety matte finish. They claimed to be hydrating just like a balm would do. Overall, i don`t find them hydrating but unlike other matte lipsticks out there, they are not drying either. Completely comfortable to wear and stays quite long on my lips.

The texture is quite balmy, and VERY pigmented. I have 3 ce lip lacquer and this one can compete with 3ce`s pigmentation. It stays around 2-3 hours and has pleasant minty smells. The only downside is the tendency to sink in lip lines and creases, especially for complex shade.

Elusive is medium pink with warm toned. The consistency is creamy and since it is pigmented, it gives full coverage to my lips.

Complex is a nude color, beige with orange hint. If you have Revlon Lustrous Almost Nude, the color is almost the same. Only this one is more muted and has matte finish. Complex has lighter pigmentation, so to achieve full coverage, we may need more than one swipe.

So far, I loveeeee Revlon Matte Balm. It has slight defect on the tendency to sink on fine lines. Other than that, everything seems to be okay! Price okay, application okay, and i really recommend Elusive and Complex for work, school and pretty much your daily need of lipstick.

Okay.. Okay.. I know this post is kinda long hahaha I don`t expect it to be this long but please bare it with me. Just bitten kissable balm is next, baby!

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain is supposed to give us a long lasting and staining color. It is very pigmented and has nice texture. The finish is satin and a a little bit glossy.

It hydrates. A little bit, really. I still opt for a lip balm underneath to cast away the dryness. It has minty scent and flavor. Somehow, i think this version has stronger mint scent than the matte ones.

Unlike the matte balm, Just bitten one will leave stain. It is more long lasting! Even when the lipstick comes off already, it still leaves a trace of color and won`t leave you dull face.

Sweetheart is deep strawberry color. It is the most pigmented and most long lasting out of four.

Cherish Devotion is light pink with blue undertone. It is very barbie like :)

So, if you opt for a more glossy look, choose this Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain. It is more long wearing and slightly cheaper price.

So… 1,2,3,4.. Which one is the best for me?

I think it is pretty! It is currently my favorite color!

I ussually get this colour from Revlon Balm Stain in Sweetheart, it is around 80.000 rupiahs or $8 when i bought it. Hmm, for the dupe, i find Viva lipstick 21 has the same deep pink strawberry color. Similar. Only viva is cheaper with 12.000 rupiahs price tag.

Viva lipstick 21 is number 2 in swatch. A bit darker and lean to plum color a little bit, whereas Revlon Balm Stain sweetheart is brighter strawberry pink, but when i tried it on my lips, i find it very similar hehehe. Of course Revlon Balm Stain is more comfortable to use. Revlon Balm Stain has balmy mint smell, does not move, staining, and last for a long time :).

Strawberry color in Sweetheart can be overpowering to some. It does for me. The color is so bold, so i let it sit on my lip for five seconds, wipe it off with tissue and here is what i got. A beautiful stain of strawberry color. It stain better than my usual Etude house lip tint. So, i opt to Revlon Balm stain when i feel like doing a bolder make up look. As you can see, it does not exaggerate dry patches on my lip much, it is even moisturizing. I like it!!
